Trailblazing Melbourne ensemble The Recorder Co-op is redefining the future of recorder performance in Australia. Celebrated for its bold artistic vision, the quartet brings together the richness of Renaissance masterworks with the excitement of contemporary music, championing new Australian compositions alongside centuries-old treasures. Performing on a rare, matched consort of handcrafted recorders based on historical designs by Danish maker Ture Bergstrøm, the ensemble offers a sound world found nowhere else in the country.

In a special collaboration with local recorder players, this year's program journeys from the glorious polyphony of Renaissance masters including Praetorius, Morales, Isaac, Agricola, Brumel and Josquin des Prez to the adventurous sounds of acclaimed Belgian composer Pieter Campo. The performance also features two collaborative premieres and the eagerly anticipated world premiere of Journeyings, a new work by celebrated Warrnambool composer and creative force Jeanette Hajncl.
